The Christian Tribune was established in 1965 by the Christian Tribune Foundation, initially as a traditional print media outlet. Under God's guidance, it has continually evolved, making multiple transformations and resource integrations in line with the times, becoming an indispensable key media platform within the Chinese church.
These changes eventually led to the formation of the “Impact Asia Center”, as a new ministry and platform to engage and connect all Churches in Asia and globally, for the advancement of the Great Commission in a challenging post-pandemic era, through innovation, unity, and transformation within the church.
In 2021, God ignited the first step of revival in Malaysia, where many interdenominational pastors gathered to promote the "Impact Asia Alliance"—a cross-denominational and cross-sector Christian media integration platform. The goal was to integrate faith into daily life through collaboration and sharing, influencing all sectors of the Seven Mountains of the Cultural Mandate.
The "Impact Asia Center," an important platform under the Christian Tribune Foundation, was established during the pandemic in 2020 to keep pace with technological developments. It aims to create significant global influence by enabling the church to engage with society. The center remains committed to the foundation's mission since its inception in 1965: "Exalting Christ, Connecting Churches, Edifying Believers, and Spreading the Gospel." Regardless of denomination, language, or political background, the center strives to connect churches across Asia, sharing experiences, cooperation, and dreams.
Since 2022, the "Impact Asia Summit" has become a crucial platform for pastoral and leadership exchanges. The inaugural summit, titled "Storm Rising" was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2023, the second summit, "Walking on Water," was successfully hosted in Jakarta, Indonesia, drawing leaders from across Asia to discuss future challenges. The third summit will be held from November 5-8, 2024, at the Grand HiLai Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, under the theme "Launch Out Into The Deep." Over 500 kingdom pastors and leaders from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, the United States, and Taiwan are expected to attend. This summit, held in Taiwan, is particularly special as it commemorates 400 years of the Gospel in Taiwan, counting the blessings and testimonies of its transformative impact.
Taiwan's society has significantly benefited from missionaries such as George Leslie Mackay and James Laidlaw Maxwell, who spearheaded medical and educational reforms, and from Doris Marie Brougham, who promoted English language learning in Taiwan. These missionaries' contributions improved the health standards and international competitiveness of Taiwanese society, showcasing the profound influence of Christianity. Their efforts helped Taiwan connect with the world, solidifying Taiwan's international standing, especially in the development of AI technology, where it has maintained a leading position globally today.
The church in Taiwan is like an AI chip—small but deeply embedded in society—driving social care and global missionary work while actively contributing to Taiwan's democratic development. This demonstrates how the church has become a key force in blessing society.
As the world rapidly changes between 2023-2024, we witness increasing natural disasters and conflicts, as well as frequent wars, serving as signs of the end times. These warnings urge us to stay vigilant and accelerate the advancement of the Kingdom's Great Commission. This year's Impact Asia Summit aims to encourage the church to be like an AI chip, stepping outside its walls and becoming embedded in the world, creating a critical transformative impact for this generation. We sincerely invite you to be part of this sacred moment!
